[Classes 36 and 38 (i)] A sub-assembly for electric cable conduits comprises conductors secured at their ends to members 44, 45 (Fig. 11) which are adapted to be inserted endwise and secured in closed hollow length of casing. The end members, which may be of male and female formation as described in Specification 583,935 may be made in two halves, screwed together, having complementary mating grooves to hold the bared conductors, and may be kept in place in the conduit by screws through the apertures 41 which may also serve to secure the conduit to a wall. Outlet terminals 46 may be provided at intervals, being constructed in two halves joined together by screws 53, each terminal comprising interlocking elements 50, 51, Fig. 9, engaging about a bared conductor, one element having a spring extension 52 to engage resiliently a plug inserted in the aperture 49. The outlet terminals may be secured by screws to the conduit, which may be made of aluminium or one of its alloys, stainless or other steel, or thermosetting plastic material. To connect a cable 61, Fig. 17, to the conduit, the leads 62, 63 may be led to binding posts 65, 66 through a screw-threaded ferrule 64 connected to a two-part housing with an extension, each half having semicircular recesses corresponding to the number of conductors of the conduit length.
