Abstract
Abrasive tools such as wheels, drills, and cutters are produced in an electrically heated mould from powdered or other diamonds or from carborundum or other powdered abrasive or mixture of abrasives set in a bond for example powdered steel and placed in the mould to form an abrasive surface where required. The mould is then filled to the required thickness with metal preferably in powder form and then heated by electric induction to raise the mould and its contents to a temperature of from 860 DEG to 960 DEG C. after which a pressure of 1 1/4 tons per square c.m. is applied. Specification 572,945 is referred to.ALSO:Abrasive tools such as wheels, drills, and cutters are produced in an electrically heated mould from powdered or other diamonds or from carborundum or other powdered abrasive or mixture of abrasives set in a bond for example powdered steel and placed in the mould to form an abrasive surface where required.
