Abstract

588,215. Bolting. WEBBER, F. W. V. Feb. 6, 1945, No. 2941. [Class 89 (i)] In bolting together plates, for example aircraft cowlings, the nut is anchored to one part and the bolt to the other and means are provided to prevent slackening under vibration. The nut 9 is anchored to the plate 2 at 10 and has a recess to receive a wire circlip 14 with straight ends 15 engaging the polygonal neck 8 of the bolt. The plates are dimpled and the bolt is retained in the plate 1 by a spring ring 16 seating in a groove in the neck.
