Abstract
586,695. Powder distributers. FARNELL, E. A., and MATHIESON, C. Sept. 29, 1944, No. 18714. [Class 18] The perforations in the non-detachable lid of a sprinkling canister or like container are sealed by a disc which is detachably secured to the underside of the lid, so that it is firmly held in position against accidental movement but is readily removed and falls into the canister on downward pressure being exerted. The disc e, Fig. 1, is held in recess c, on the underside of the lid a, by an annular bead f, but may be pushed into the canister by, say, a pencil inserted through the hole d, which may be surrounded by a ring of smaller holes. The resilient sprinkler top of Fig. 4 and 6 is embossed to provide an outwardly bulged central portion k, provided in the region of its circumference, with substantially triangular openings l: a cardboard disc m is held in position by a small lip or tongue n. To release the disc, the portion k is pressed down, to reverse its curvature. Specifications 23978/04, 337,802, [both in Class 18], and 500,419 are referred to.
