Abstract
583,054. Stair-carpet holders. DAVIS, F. L. May 25, 1944, No. 10125. [Class 52 (v)] In a stair - carpet holder of the kind in which one arm of a U-shaped holder slidably engages a bracket fixed to the stairs, the rear face of the arm or the front face of the bracket is provided with a rounded or inclined projection so that the arm can be firmly wedged in the bracket. In the construction shown in Fig. 5 the rear face of the arm 17 has one or more tapering projections 24. In modifications the arm has a resilient pressed out tongue or a longitudinal groove, tapering in depth, engaging buttonheaded screws which fix the bracket to the stairs. In the construction shown in Fig. 9 the bracket 10 has pressed out projections 30 Various forms of horizontal and vertical ribs or projections on the bracket are described. The holder may be of the kind, described in Specifications 422,727 and 471,111, wherein the holder is slid into engagement with the bracket in a direction outwardly of the carpet.
