[Also in Division A4] A support for a post comprises a socket part 14 formed with inclined channels 17, the post having key parts 11 which fit into the channels to be supported and held in the socket by a wedge 13 inserted behind the post. The socket is of rubber, synthetic plastics, concrete, or of metal with the base blate 15, and the wedge is of wood or metal. For a circular sectioned post the socket is elliptical instead of the rectangular section shown. The post is removed by pushing the wedge down to the bottom of the socket or by splitting the wedge, or the wedge may be screw-threaded so that it may be removed with a key. A second wedge may be inserted in front of the post to adjust the position of the post relative to the socket.
