Abstract
582,395. Rotary blowers. MILEWSKI, M. Oct. 6, 1944, No. 19216. [Class 110 (ii)] The rotor comprises a shell 19 and an eccentric axle 25, connected by flexible diaphragms 26, and during rotation of the parts 19 and 25, expanding and contracting chambers 29 are formed, fluid being transferred from an inlet 30 to a delivery 31. A driving shaft 20 is geared to the shell 19 through gears 22, 21, the shell rotating in bearings 15, 16, and through the diaphragms carrying around the axle 25, supported in bearings 23, 24. The ends of the diaphragms 26 slide on stationary sealing discs 13. The ports 30, 31, are sealed from each other by abutments 101. The diaphragms are formed of sheet steel, copper-beryllium alloy or the like. The axle 25 may be geared to the shell 19, to relieve the diaphragms from driving loads. The Provisional Specification states that the axle may be polygonal in shape.
