Abstract

582,116. Fuel nozzles. ROVER CO., Ltd., and WILKS, M. C. Aug. 21, 1944, No. 15940. [Class 7 (iii)] A chamber d is provided around the end of a fuel injection nozzle of the type through which measured quantities of fuel are supplied by a pump to the cylinder or induction pipe and this chamber has a constantly open discharge orifice or orifices e spaced from and in advance of the nozzle outlet b and is supplied with air or gas under pressure independent of the combustion air to prevent fuel being drawn out of the nozzle due to high suction at idling. The chamber may be supplied with exhaust gas or with air from a separate pump A non-return valve c is provided in the fuel passage.
