Abstract
581,324. Valve generating circuits. DODDS, J. M., SCOLES, G. J., and METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. June 26, 1942, No. 8856. [Class 40 (v)] An impulse generator comprises a relaxation oscillator with the addition of a rectifier effectively in series with an inductance which resonates with a condenser at one-half of the required recurrence frequency. In this way accurate timing of the impulses is obtained since the rectifier prevents current reversal and produces a rapid potential change. Fig. 5 shows a blocking oscillator V timed by the combination RC in which a diode D and an inductance LR are connected in the anode lead. Alternatively they may be connected in the cathode lead, Fig. 3 (not shown) in which case the additional condenser CR is connected between the diode anode and earth and the grid inductance is connected to earth through the inductance LR. In a modification, Fig. 7 (not shown) the inductance is connected in the positive lead and the diode in the negative lead. Fig. 9 shows a grid controlled discharge tube oscillator Vr with the added diode D and inductance LR in the cathode lead and an optional anode inductance LP<1>. Specification 578,510 is referred to.
