Abstract

541,529. Electron oscillators. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and GIBSON, W. T. May 28, 1940, No. 9355. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v)] In an oscillator wherein an electron stream is velocity modulated in one resonator 41 and gives up energy to standing waves in a second resonator 51, feed back is effected by an auxiliary velocitymodulated stream. The output from an auxiliary cathode 101 is controlled by an electrode 102, the stream passing through the gaps 103, 105 in the two resonators. The tubes 104, 106 &c. maybe inclined to give an equal coupling between the stream and resonators. Flattened resonators may be used. Power is taken from the oscillators by the loop 101 which with the tube 121 forms a concentric line.
