[Class 51 (i)] [Also in Group XXVII] An annular cooling-jacket for combustion apparatus has a conical cooling surface 2 and a tangential coolant inlet 3, located near the top of the jacket, has a constriction 4 whereby a high rotatory speed is imparted to the body of the coolant within the jacket, thus increasing the efficiency of the cooling for a given flow of coolant. In the form shown the coolant flows out from the jacket into the combustion space 1 through rings of orifices 5. Specification 578,293, [Group XXVII], is referred to.
