Abstract

577,924. Vehicle fittings for loading. WALKER BROS. (WIGAN), Ltd., and WALKER, D. July 28, 1944, No. 14454. [Class 78 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXII] A self-propelled vehicle 10 is provided with two sets of ramps 12, 13 at different levels which are adapted to receive, respectively, the small wheels 11 and supporting wheels 2 of a removable vehicle 1, which may'be a refuse cart. The vehicle 1 is provided with a king-pin 3 for use when the front of the vehicle is supported on a tractor or horse drawn bogie, and in the absence of a wheeled support, is supported on folding struts. The single or double ramp 12 is higher than ramp 13 and extends down to the level of the vehicle 1 when supported on its struts whereas the extensions 14 of the ramps 13 extend to ground level to co-operate with the wheels 2. The extensions 14 maybe detachable or may be telescoped alongside of the frame 9 of the vehicle 10.
