Abstract

575,920. Ventilating crank cases. DEHN, F. B. (Willys-Overland Motors, Inc.). Aug. 28, 1944, No. 16308. [Class 7 (ii)] Suction for ventilating the crank-case is obtained from a shroud 30 projecting from the radiator 24 adjacent to fan 29 and connected by a pipe 32, preferably flexible, to the crank-case filler 22. The shroud has substantially the same diameter as that of the fan and the connecting pipe 31 may have a filter therein. Air is drawn into the crank case through a filter which is preferably arranged on the opposite side to the filler 22 and forms part of the cover of the valve gear chamber.
