574,975. Electromagnetic relays. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and YULE, W. H. D. Nov. 5, 1943, No. 18378. [Class 38 (v)] A polarized relay has an armature 7 which is attracted to one or other pole piece 3, 4 according to the direction of the current in the windings 5, 6 and returns to the central position shown when de-energized under the influence of contact springs which act on arms 8, 9 extending from the armature ; the armature is free from spring pressure in its central position, being able to swing freely for a small deflection before encountering the studs which operate the contact springs. The relay is polarized by permanent magnet 2. Specifications 496,697 and 557,089 are referred to.
