Abstract

574,051. Electric resonators. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and CLAYTON, R..J. Jan. 7, 1942, No. 251. [Class 40 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] In a coupling for high-frequency concentric cables comprising plug-and-socket members that together form a uniform line, the length of which is a multiple of a half-wavelength, extensions at the ends of the joint are interposed between it and the cables, the extensions 12 together having a length which is a multiple of a half-wavelength. The radial joints of the insulation between the coupling members and between the cable ends andthe coupling members are broken by interfitting parts formed in the insulation. At the plane B between the plug-and-socket members this is effected by a tongue-and-groove joint 10. At the joints between the cable ends and the coupling members the extensions 12 contain a prolongation 11 of the insulation of the coupling which overlaps the cable insulation, the outer conductor 3 of both parts of the coupling being correspondingly extended.
