[Classes 18 and 133] [Also in Groups XXV and XXXI] A tool bag 1, which locks automatically on closing the cover 3, is constructed wholly of metal and the cover 3, which is adapted when closed to secure any external pockets 7, carries an external spring-controlled member 18 or 23, connected operatively to internal retaining elements 16 and adapted after being unlocked to be depressed to impart angular movement to the elements to disengage them and permit the cover to be opened. As shown in Figs. 1 and 5. the member 18 constitutes the handle and is connected at each end to a plunger 13 connected by a stem 15 with a pivoted latch 16 adapted to engage cranked portions 9 of a fixed metal frame 8. On rotating a member 41 by means of a key (38, not shown) so as to bring V-shaped projections 42 into register with V-shaped notches 40, the handle can be depressed against the action of springs 14 to release the latches 16 and enable the bag to be opened. On closing the cover, the latches 16 automatically engage the cranked portions 9, the member 41 being then returned into the locking position by removing the key. The body may be divided by a longitudinal partition and clipped to the frame 8. In the cycle tool bag shown in Fig. 4, the frame 8 is formed with a single-cranked portion and the latch 16 is operated by the key controlled knob 23. The bag is attached to a cycle by a spring 28 secured to U-links 29, 30, bolted respectively to the frame 33, and a bracket 34 clamped to the back stays 35. A tubular bracket 36 with its lower end projecting through the body 1 accommodates a pump 37.
