Abstract

568,357. Printing-machines. MILLER PRINTING MACHINERY CO. Aug. 1, 1941, No. 8849/43. Convention date, Aug. 3, 1940. Divided out of 568,346. [Class 100 (ii)] Inking - apparatus.-Distributing rollers 28, 29 are reciprocated axially in opposite directions by a lever 216 pivoted centrally to the machine frame and having integral therewith a bevel gear 218 meshing with a bevel gear segment 220 on a shaft 219 to which is fixed a gear segment 221 meshing with a segment 222 on an oscillating shaft 223. This segment is oscillated by a forked lever 227 engaging an arm 224 of the segment, the lever 227 being connected by a link 231 and roller 232 to a slotted arm 234 secured to a shaft 235 to which is also fixed an arm 236 oscillated by the press driving means.' A guide collar 233 for the link 231 is pivoted to an arm 247 fixed to a shaft 248 to which is also fixed an arm 249 carrying a spring-pressed pin 250 which may be inserted in any of a series of holes 251, whereby the position of the roller 232 along the arm 234 and thus the amplitude of the reciprocating movement of the rollers 28, 29 may be varied.
