Abstract

567,833. Tractor wheels. DARVILL, A. B. Feb. 8, 1944, No. 2366. [Class 144 (i)] The strakes 5 of tractor driving-wheels are extended or retracted by rotating a member 12 which engages the strakes between their shoes 6 and their inner ends which have fixed pivots 4. The pivots 4 consist of bolts used to connect a plate 3 to the disc 2 of the wheel 1, this plate carrying a pivot 9 on which is mounted for rotation a member 10 with arms 11. The arms 11 are secured to the double ring 12 which surrounds the strakes, member 10 being locked in set position by a nut 14 and a locking pin 15- engaging one of three apertures in plate 3. The spades 6 may be angular or tubular and are secured to the strakes by bolts or rivets or by welding.
