567,001. Stop-motions for knitting- machines. CORAH & SONS, Ltd., N., GWILLIM, D. C., and BIRD, W. M. March 26, 1943, No. 4898. [Class 74 (ii)] A stop-motion mechanism for a knitting or other textile machine, operated either by failure of the yarn or by the presence of a slub or other irregularity in the yarn, comprises a detector member 15 having a narrow throat 17 through which the yarn runs, and a dropper member 10 normally supported by the yarn. Each of the members 10, 15 when actuated engages a contact member 14, and the pivots 11, 16 for the members are also connected to one contact member 32, so that the two members control the same circuit. The members 10, 15 are so shaped as to provide fingers 27, 28 forming a throat for receiving a yarn in threading-up and for deflecting it into the slot 17 and the throat 25 of the dropper 10.
