Abstract
565,733. Warp beams. HODGSON, F. S. March 15, 1943, No. 4204. [Class 142 (ii)] A beam comprises a hollow metal barrel a with spaced diametrically opposed holes b towards its ends, and two flanges c, each of which is rigid with an externally screw-threaded collar d which is a sliding fit upon the barrel. The collar d threads into an internally screwthreaded collar f having a solid part g with aligned holes h, and a pin i is passed through the collar f and the barrel a to secure the collar and the flange c to the barrel. The internallythreaded part of the collar f is split and is clamped upon the collar d by a bolt o and nut. The pin i may be secured in position by a crosspin passed through a slot in a cap k and rotated. A spring s serves to hold the cross-pin against the under face of the cap. The flanges may be recessed at p so that any damage to the edge of the flange does not damage the side of the flange against which the yarn rubs.
