Abstract

783,437. Securing bolts &c. against loss. ROLLS-ROYCE, Ltd. Nov. 4, 1955 [Nov. 4, 1954], No. 32009/54. Class 89(1) A set-screw 14 engaging a screwedinsert 15 is held captive thereto when the threads have been disengaged, by a ring 30 of aluminium which is deformed into a groove 24 in the insert. Initially the ring is of conical form so that it can be assembled beyond the threads 20 of the screw to surround the reduced-shank 22, and so deformed by the screw via a removable member 31. The screw is used to secure a locking-plate 12 engaging a bolt-head 11. The screw engaging an arcuate-slot 12A in the plate. Spring and plain washers 18, 17, respectively, are assembled on the screw above the plate.
