Abstract
563,499. Drawing curtains. WILTSHIRE, H. C. Feb. 12, 1943, No. 2342. [Class 52 (v)] The arrangement described in Specification 494,593 is modified by the employment of a narrow belt f of leather, canvas or metal within a slotted tube a carrying the curtain rings k, k<1>, actuated by fingers l, l<1> on the belt. The belt is preferably endless and passes over a driving pulley c<1> and an idle pulley c, the latter being engaged by an adjustable spring d for tensioning the belt. The stretches of the belt are supported by rollers h mounted on pins across the tube. The belt may have slots or projections and the pulleys corresponding teeth or recesses to ensure positive drive, and preferably the driving pulley c' is driven through a slipping clutch p, Fig. 5, from a flexible shaft n connected to an electric motor. Several curtain pulleys may be connected by similar shafts to a common motor.
