Abstract

562,395. Glazing windows. EASTERN COACH WORKS, Ltd., and BRAMHAM, W. Dec. 24, 1942, No. 18342. [Class 20 (iii)] A glazing strip is made of a resilient material such as rubber, and is provided with a channel 27 to accommodate the edges of a window pane 25, a section of the strip in repose being shown in Fig. 3, the strip being deformed as in Fig. 2 when the pane 25 is inserted, and' the strip forced between the edges of the pane. and the window frame 21. The strip may also have another channel 28 in which is retained a finishing strip 29, which, however, does not support the glazing strip. A curved lip 31 is flattened against the pane to prevent entry of water. The concavity at 30 provides a cushioning effect to absorb shock. In Fig. 14 drain channels 41 are provided with hollow thimbles 40 which convey water collecting in shallow channels 37 into the channels 41.
