Abstract

The additional frame is mounted on the inside of an existing window frame. The additional frame has an outward facing channel and receives the edge of a beading strip which is screwed to the existing frame. An inwardly facing channel has a serrated inner face and holds the additional glass pane. An elastic strip provides a weather tight seal between new and existing frames. A second pane is glued into the rebate formed by an inwardly pointing lip. The additional frame is made of plastic and cut to the appropriate size.
