Abstract

966,116. Coverings for window frames and sashes. R. SANDYS. (Establishment Woodplast Associates). Oct. 10, 1962 [Sept. 5, 1961], No. 31789/61. Headings E1J and E1R. Facing strips 6, 6<SP>1</SP>, 16 of resilient synthetic material are fastened to wooden sash 1, and frame 2, members by means of solid plastics holders 3, of oval section, having locating ribs 4 glued or screwed into grooves in the sash and frame members. The holders are of short length, and are spaced apart along the sash and frame members, with L-shaped holders being used at the corners. The facing strips are clipped in place by means of inturned projections on their side walls. Strips 6 have extensions 7 along one side carrying tubular flexible plastics seals 9, and extensions 12 along the other side having L-shaped flanges into which are clipped R-shaped glazing strips 15, forcing the window pane 13 against sealing strips 14. Strip 6<SP>1</SP> carries an integral strip 22, and strips 16 have keying projections 18, and projections 20 lying on sealing strips 21. A gutter 23 of the same resilient material is glued to the bottom horizontal frame member.
