559,298. Magnesium hydroxide. OCEAN SALTS (PRODUCTS), Ltd., and HANSTOCK, R. F. May 9, 1942, No. 6288. [Class 1 (iii)] Magnesium hydroxide is obtained from brine and other liquors containing a low percentage of magnesium salts by the addition thereto of a base, e.g. a lime suspension, at such a rate that growth of existing particles occurs preferentially to the formation of new particles. The addition may be intermittent or continuous and the magnesium salt solution may be seeded with the precipitate formed in a previous process.
