Abstract
556,961. Refrigerators. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. June 29, 1942, No. 8944. Convention date, July 1, 1941. [Class 29] A domestic cabinet having an evaporator 12 in its upper portion of substantially the full width and depth of the storage space is provided with spaced horizontal baffles 13, 14 below the evaporator adapted to produce a flow of the warmer air beneath the lower baffle and then between the baffles, whereby the lower baffle is maintained at above dew point to prevent condensation falling into the storage space. The air rises in front of a door 24 of the freezing chamber of the evaporator, across the top and down at the back, and the flow may be controlled by a damper 15. Moisture may be collected in the dished upper face of the lower baffle and led to a cup 34 and drain 35. The lower baffle may have a gasket 30 to make joint with the cabinet door when closed.
