555,507. Collapsable photographic cameras. KODAK, Ltd. Dec. 4, 1942, No. 17267. Convention date, Dec. 6, 1941. [Class 98 (i)] In a collapsable camera, of the type in which the front 2 slides in the body 1, a soft light-tight gasket 26 is interposed between the loosely-fitting walls 26, 25 of the front and body portions respectively, and accurate guide means independent of these walls are provided for the front. In the form shown, the guides are formed by two rods 3 secured to the body and engaged by apertured lugs 7 on the rear end of the front member. The front is moved outwardly to its position of use by helical springs 19 secured at their two ends to the body and looped over lugs 24 on the front. A spring catch 40 on the front engages a stud on the body to retain the front in the closed position.
