Abstract

555,236. Carburetted water gas plant. HUMPHREYS & GLASGOW, Ltd., and CHEETHAM, H. S. May 13, 1942, No. 6495. [Classes 55 (i) and 55 (ii)] Carburetted water gas apparatus is provided with an additional pipe connection or connections from the generator to a separate wash box so that blue water gas may be taken off therethrough, no part of the path of this blue water gas being traversed by the carburetted water gas. By this means the water gas is uncontaminated by carburetted water gas made during another portion of the cycle, or by tarry deposits from the oil used in carburetting. Carburetted water gas from a generator A, carburettor B and superheater C pass by pipe L to a washer D and cooler E, a pipe 1 controlled by a valve 2 carrying the uncontaminated water gas to a washer 3 and cooler 4.
