Abstract

551,089. Feedwater supply systems for steam boilers. RITCHIE, E. G. Aug. 29, 1941, No. 11045. [Class 123 (ii)] Steam is supplied from a boiler 1 to a consumer 8 through a pressure-reducing valve 10, and the feedwater supply valve 19 is so controlled by the variations in the boiler pressure consequent on variations of steam demand that when the pressure falls, the boiler water level drops and at a predetermined low pressure the feed is cut off, and when the pressure rises, the water level is restored. Overriding float-operated valves 20, 22 prevent overfeeding and underfeeding.
