Abstract

547,501. Rotary conveyers. BEST, C., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd. Feb. 28, 1941, No. 2773. [Class 78 (i)] Means for guiding bullet envelopes delivered from a feeding machine has a pusher device which positively forces the envelope toward the outlet with its base foremost. The guides are of a known form consisting of vertical converging members 8 notched at 11 to receive channelled inserts 9, the nose of the envelope E entering one of the channels 10 to tip up the envelope and let it fall base foremost. The pusher consists of narrow plates 29 spaced apart less than the length of the envelope, and either pivoted about a rockable shaft or mounted on a reciprocating wedge. These plates 9 are actuated by a spring and roller connection to a cam-operated bar which also ejects the envelopes to the top of the shoot beneath the plates 29, and also provides a temporary rest therefor. A known form of detector is provided for limiting the quantity of envelopes accumulated between the guides 8. The front of the guides 8 is closed by a swingable door.
