[Class 37] Rectifier plates 1, 2 are cooled by U-shaped plates 3 ... 14, the base of each U being secured at several points to the respective plates. As shown, the rectifiers are double sided and the flanges of the U-plates connected together to form a corrugated plate, the assembly being supported at the edges of the cooling plates. In a modification, single sided rectifiers are used with U-plates secured to the base plates, and used as spacers, with the interposition of insulating rods, when a number of rectifier units is clamped by the bars passing through.
