[Class 126] A hot chamber or a gas oven closed at the base is heated by a luminous flame burner o arranged in a removable combustion chamber p extending along the bottom of the oven back wall k below an outlet flue q communicating with the interior of the oven by two semi-cylindrical recesses t in the side walls e or by outlets in a plate u surrounding the combustion chamber and attached to the back wall k. The combustion chamber may consist of a detachable front wall 12, end walls z, and a rear wall x which is curved at its upper part and ends in a lip y forming with the front wall 12 an outlet opening 13. The rear wall x is notched to engage positioning lugs 17 on the back wall k. The wall k is formed with a flue outlet nozzle r and with two forwardly projecting ribs s which with the plate u, form the flue q. The back of the lip y is formed with slight projections 25 resting against a shoulder 15 on the plate u. A thermostatic tube 29 controlling, the temperature of the oven may be arranged in the flue q. Air is admitted to the combustion chamber through one or more openings 22 which may be fitted with controlling means. The lower part 14 of the wall k is outwardly curved to leave an air space insulating the combustion chamber from the outlet flue. The inner surface of the wall x is polished or enamelled to enable the flames to be easily seen from the front of the oven. The bottom of the oven is closed by a spillover tray m sliding on the lowest of the shelfsupporting ribs g. Specification 537,189 is referred to.
