539,977. Fenders. CRABTREE, H. S., BRITISH OVERSEAS AIRWAYS CORPORATION, CHANDLER, P. L., and HOLT & CHANDLER, Ltd. Jan. 27, 1940, No. 1667. [Class 113 (i)] A boat with rounded bow or stern has inwardly inclined gunwales 4 on which are sealed a pair of superposed inflated tubes 11 enclosed in a covering 12 secured to the gunwales, the whole serving as a fender. Thwart ships fenders 15 stuffed with kapok with an internal inflatable tube are also supplied to the bow and the stern. The side tube 11 may be sectional and be provided with nozzles 14 for inflation.
