Abstract

374,088. Boat fenders. PAINE, H. SCOTT-, of British Power Boat Co., Shipyard, Hythe, Southampton. March 2, 1931 No. 6504. [Class 113 (i).] Cushion fenders comprising alternate layers of rubber 12, 11, 10 and canvas 15, 14, 13 are mounted on the craft with a portion of the fender projecting above the gunwale to present a surface which protects the craft from impact with overhanging objects in addition to the usual broadside blows. The tapered edges of the fender facilitate its attachment by means of nails 17 to the hull.
