Abstract

529,823. Cycle stands. PARKER, WINDER & ACHURCH, Ltd., and WADE, F. June 9, 1939, No. 16879. [Class 136 (i)] A stand adapted to receive both wheels of a bicycle comprises an inclined metal strip 5 with curved or angular end portions 5b, 5c, and spaced side rails 14 having parts inclined respectively from the upper and lower ends as shown to an intermediate position, where they may be welded to a channel-shaped sheetmetal bracket 12 welded to the strip 5. The front wheel of the bicycle rides up the strip 5 until the rear wheel rests in the lower arcuate portion 5c, of substantially the same radius as the wheel. The upper and lower ends of the strip 5 and rods 14 are secured respectively to brackets 8, 13, which are attached to longitudinal bars to form a storage rack, adjacent storage units being preferably at different levels, so that the units are arranged in two banks. The lower end of the strip 5 is bent down at 5d to form a ramp.
