[Class 68 (i)] [Also in Group XXIX] In a water supply installation wherein water is supplied to a vessel by a flexible pipe such as 21, and an air-inlet valve is provided between the flexible pipe and the supply pipe 10, there is provided between the pipe 21 and the air-inlet valve 17 for preventing " sucking-back " a container 19 capable of holding at least the whole of the water in the flexible pipe. The valve 17 may have a bell-float 34 with a plate 36 that fits the seating 39. If water is flowing through the flexible tube and if another tap on the pipe 10 is opened and the main tap closed air drawn into valve 17 breaks the flow of dirty water into the main, and if the head of the flexible pipe 21 is raised the water therein flows into the container 19.
