525,665. Fuel-injection pumps. BOSCH GES., R. Feb. 25, 1939, No. 6257. Convention date, March 29, 1938. [Class 102 (i)] [Also in Group XXIX] A feed pump 2 delivers through a filter 40, having an overflow valve 7, to a cylinder 10 having a spring-loaded piston 11 connected to a coupling 42 which adjusts the phase between the fuel injection pump 1 and its driving shaft 43. Fuel passes through a groove 16 of varying section in the cylinder 10 or in an inserted sleeve to the suction chamber 19 of the fuel injection pump, which is fitted with an overflow valve 34 to maintain substantially constant pressure therein. The groove 16 may be of uniform section and the piston loaded by various springs. Upon alteration of the quantity delivered by the pump 1 the edges 33 on the pistons 24 cause an adjustment of the time of injection as determined by the coupling 42.
