Abstract
525,032. Tubular scaffolding. SAFWAY STEEL SCAFFOLDS CO., OF AMERICA. Feb. 13, 1939, No. 4635. Convention date, Feb. 25, 1938. [Class 20 (ii)] Relates to tubular scaffolding comprising a trussed member 20, Fig. 1, supported between braced towers 29, and consists in providing U- shaped supports 22 on the towers for the rails 36, 37 of the trussed member, screws 39, Fig. 2, passing across the arms of the U and between the rails to retain the trussed member in position. A double U-shaped member, Fig. 7, permits of sliding adjustment of the trussed member to suit the distance between the towers. The U- shaped member shown in Fig. 9 permits the trussed member to be turned round the pillar 28 to connect towers which are off-set with respect to one another. Sockets or spigots 41 may be attached to the rails 36, 37 to receive the uprights of a superstructure 40.
