524,960. Centrifugal compressors. AERO ENGINES, Ltd., and HALLIDAY, G. F. Feb. 11, 1939, No. 4550. [Class 110 (i)] In a compressor, air spaces 14, 15 open to atmosphere are provided between the pump chamber and bearings 9, 10 to prevent leakage of oil into the chamber. Additional air chambers 19, 20 connected by 23, 24 to the delivery side of the compressor are provided to force back any oil leakage into the spaces 14, 15. Labyrinth packings 17, 18 may also be provided.
