373,232. Turbines ; screw fans. SILBERMANN, E., 39, Strada Vlaicu, Oradeamare, Roumania. Nov. 15, 1930, No. 6219/32. Divided on 369,222. [Classes 110 (i) and 110 (iii).] In a turbine, fan, or pump, the rotor (or rotors) has passages formed in it or on its surface shaped so that the main lines of flow conform to geodesics to a surface of revolution coaxial with the rotor, other than a cylinder. The Figure shows a three-rotor turbine with an explosion chamber 8 with ports 9, 10, for the mixture inlet and ignition plug. The rotors may be packed on their 'peripheries or have annular ribs 6 preventing leakage of gas. The rotors may be built up of several discs. The driving medium may be petrol, crude oil, steam, or an explosive, the flow being continuous or in the form of intermittent impulses.
