524,190. Hinged valves. MILBURN, H. E. Jan. 20, 1939, No. 16832. Divided out of 512,120. [Class 135] A hinged flap valve adapted to control an outlet orifice 13 in a tubular member 10 forming part of a conduit, of the type, for example, for controlling an ejector as disclosed in Specification 512,120, wherein the flap 16 when closing the orifice lies out of the path of flow through the tubular member, but when operated moves wholly or partially to close the tubular member, has the tubular member cut to provide a pair of flaps 11 between which is supported a plate 12 containing the orifice 13. Bearings 14 for the valve project from the plate 12, and the valve may be spring-biased to close the orifice, and may be operated by a cable, rod or the like secured to the arm 17.
