Abstract
523,854. Endless-belt conveyers. EICKHOFF, A., [trading as EICKHOFF MASCHINENFABRIK U. EISENGIESSEREI, GEB.] Jan. 16, 1939, Nos. 1506, 1507 and 1508. Convention dates, Jan. 29, 1938, Sept. 20, 1938 and Oct. 29, 1938 [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group XIII] In a roller assembly for supporting conveyer belts and the like the roller 21 is mounted on a stationary supporting axle 9, and a ring 5 of packing material, such as oilresistant rubber or leather, of the same external diameter as the outer bearing ring 3 is mounted firmly within the roller at its outer edge and bears against a wearing sleeve 10 on the axle with radial pressure at its inner edge. The outer edge of the ring 5 is held between a spacing bush 4 and a flange ring 6 by a spring ring 7 which is snapped into a groove 8 provided in the bearing seat 1. The ring 5 may have a central corrugation or may be double-walled at the centre. In a modification the bearing seat 1 is secured against rotation in the roller by a depression 15, Fig. 6, and receives a bearing ring 3, a packing ring 5 and a spring clip 7, Fig. 4. A flat metal ring 22 is placed between the clip 7 and ring 5.
