522,337. Assembling aircraft structures. HENSCHEL FLUGZEUG-WERKE AKT.- GES. Jan. 7, 1939, No. 599. Convention date, Feb. 4, 1938. [Class 4] A scaffolding for use more particularly in aeroplane construction, e.g. for supporting the pattern members which reproduce the shape of the part to be constructed comprises tubes, 5, 6, 9 and connecting members 1, 3, 10 having semi-cylindrical recesses adjacent which are fitting surfaces to which can be connected either clips 4 to form cylindrical apertures to grip a tube or the fitting surfaces of other connecting members, also the connecting members may be connected to one another by other fitting surfaces. The members 3 are base members on which the scaffolding is erected and are provided with adjustable supporting surfaces 12 and rollers 13. The connecting members 1 have, on four outer surfaces semi-cylindrical recesses which on opposite surfaces are parallel and on adjacent surfaces at right angles. Two members are adapted to be bolted together the flat fitting surfaces beside the recesses fitting together. The connecting members 10 have on the opposite faces semi-cylindrical recesses at right angles to one another. A further member, Fig. 7 and 8, allows oblique positioning of the fitting surfaces to be connected and comprises a recess 2 on one side and arc-shaped slots 8 for the connecting bolts to allow angular relative positioning of the parts. A further member comprises an angle member for connecting pipes with intersecting axes.
