Abstract
744,878. Scaffold clamps. FERROTUBI SOC. PER AZIONI. Nov. 13. 1953 [Nov. 27, 1952], No. 31558/53. Class 20(2). [Also in Group XXVIII] A coupling for connecting three or more scaffolding tubes comprises three or more members each, having a central portion and semitubular ends 1, 2, 3 adapted to be received with clearance within the tubes, one of the members having a central projection 4 acting as an abutment for set-screws 5 provided in the other members by which the ends of the members are forced into engagement with the inner walls of the tubes. The device shown adapted for joining three to five tubes, is a straight member with a wedge-shaped projection 4 and two transverse semi-tubular, tube-engaging parts 11, and two angle-pieces each having two transverse quarter segments 2<SP>1</SP>. Grooves 9 are adapted to receive elastic rings to keep the members assembled when the joint is dismantled. In another device. Fig. 9 (not shown), for joining four to six tubes, four angle-pieces are provided, the central abutment on one of them being of rectangular cross-section.
