Abstract

521,987. Locking nuts, bolts &c. EVERY, C. E. (Illinois Tool Works). Nov. 30, 1938, No. 34925. Addition to 499,067. [Class 89 (i)] A lock washer 26, Figs. 2 and 5, is secured to a threaded member such as a screw 14 by slipping the washer over the shank part and subjecting the part 30 to a swaging operation in a die 34 which raises a locking projection or projections 32 against the washer. A pigoted nut may be similarly acted upon to produce the nut and washer assembly shown in Fig. 7.
