Abstract
245,121. Bertrand, A. J. Dec. 20,1924, [Convention date]. Locking nuts.-A washer 6 splined to a bolt 1 has a yielding tongue 7 which is cut out of, and raised from its outer edge, and engages a ratchet 3 on the outer edge of the face of the nut; the inner face 4 of the nut projects and forces the solid part of the washer on to the work. A projection 8 of the tongue enables it to be bent back so that the nut can be unscrewed.
