Abstract

519,930. Hydraulic accumulators, NASH, A. G. FRAZER-, July, 22, 1938, No. 21776. [Class 69 (ii)] Compressed air supplied through a valved pipe 23 to the upper part of a cylinder 10 is separated by a piston 13 from oil supplied from a pressure source through a pipe 3 and discharged through an outlet 4, e.g., to a manually controlled hydraulic gun-firing device. The piston has a liquid seal, the liquid being supplied through a hole 14. Exhaust oil from the fire control device passes through an inlet 18 into the facearound the cylinder 10. If the source of pressure oil should be damaged, e.g., by enemy gun-fire, the exhaust oil may be drawn off through an aperture 35 by operation of a hand pump 29 and forced through an inlet 6 into the cylinder 10.
