Abstract

513,695. Fluxes. MITCHELL, H. W., HOGGETT, YOUNG, & CO., Ltd. April 13, 1938, No. 11372. [Class 82 (ii)] A flux for soldering, welding or brazing that involves fusion of aluminium consists of a major proportion of alkali metal chloride and fluoride forming together 50-80 per cent. by weight, and minor proportions of alkali metal sulphate, zinc chloride and stannous chloride, with or without ammonium chloride. Water may also be added to form a paste. In an example the flux consists of potassium fluoride, potassium sulphate, potassium chloride, sodium chloride, zinc chloride, ammonium chloride, stannous chloride, and lithium chloride.
