Abstract

507,838. Pipe unions. HARLOW, B. S. Sept. 21, 1937, No. 25541. [Class 99 (i)] In a union for connecting branch pipes to mains, a cap-nut 9 encloses a nut 8 which connects the swivelling socket 3 for the branch to the ferrule part 4 and screws on to the top of the ferrule to close the same. A valve 5 controls the connection between the branch and the bore in the ferrule and is operated by a key inserted through the top of the ferrule when the cap-nut is removed.
